From the outside looking in, it can be easy to assume anyone can conduct their own private investigation or surveillance, however the laws and regulations of the state of Tennessee have strict requirements for who can and can not conduct investigations within the state. Additionally, inexperience can often lead to what the industry refers to as “being burned” which simply means the subject has detected the private investigator and is aware of the surveillance operation.

Private investigators in Tennessee are licensed by the state to legally conduct private investigators. If you want to verify the legitimacy of an investigator you can request to see their license. Legitimate investigators will have no problem producing a license, if they can not, you might consider a different team who can.
